Detached from the Château Figeac estate in 1879, the vineyard is located on the edge of the Pomerol appellation between Château Cheval Blanc and Château Figeac. Since Roman times, the famous "Graves de Saint-Emilion", on which Château La Tour Figeac is located, has been devoted to winegrowing. This terroir, along with the medieval heritage of Saint-Emilion, was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. The estate has belonged to the Otto Rettenmaier family since 1973.
