In the Vaux Valley at Chançay, Domaine du Margalleau (30 ha) produces a Vouvray Brut from Chenin Blanc grown on clay-limestone-siliceous soils.
Gentle pneumatic pressing, controlled fermentation, and 18–24 months of lees aging deliver a bright pale-yellow color, fine bubbles, and delicate fruity aromas. Crisp attack, elegant palate, and ripe fruit finish.
Best enjoyed young, perfect with seafood, smoked salmon, or dark chocolate desserts.
